Nutrition Response Testing is a modality that we use at NWHS to help identify the underlying causes of ill health. The 5 most common stressors that NRT utilizes to help uncover imbalances with our health are: hidden food sensitivities, immune challenges, heavy metal and heavy chemical toxicities as well as active scars. Let’s examine each common health stressor below.

  1. Hidden Food Sensitivities: food allergens and or sensitivities produce an inflammatory response in our bodies causing a cascade of negative symptoms with our health. Symptoms related to food sensitivities are: weight issues, skin imbalances, digestive issues, autoimmune diseases, headaches/migraines, thyroid conditions, mood imbalances, hormonal issues and more! The top major food allergens and sensitivities in the U.S. today are gluten, dairy, soy, peanuts, corn and grains.

  2. Immune challenges: the human body contains good and bad bugs (pathogens) in the form of viruses, bacteria, parasites and fungi. This is normal for every human body. The issues in our tissues arise when the bad bugs become more dominant than the good bugs and or we acquire a harmful immune strand challenge. We are bombarded daily with immune challenges (viruses, bacteria, parasites, fungi) and if our immune systems are strong enough, we can combat their attempt at entering our body and properly detox them out. Due to our food supply, stressful pace of life, etc. our immune systems can become more easily weakened and therefore immune challenges have become more prevalent in our world today and contribute to a variety of symptoms and or diseases.

  3. Heavy Metals: are found in cooking ware, dental fillings, some vaccinations, regular deodorant, some beauty products, canned foods, contaminated water and some seafood. Heavy metals can do a number to our bodies in a variety of ways as well as our endocrine system and immunity. Ensuring our bodies are properly detoxing and not accumulating heavy metals is essential to a healthy body.

  4. Heavy Chemicals: such as pesticides, formaldehyde, dry cleaning, food preservatives, toxic cleaning and beauty products, etc. can accumulate in our bodies over the years and negatively impact organ function, hormones, immunity, digestion and metabolic function.

  5. Active Scars: the skin is our largest organ and over 80% of the autonomic part of our nervous system called the sympathetic nervous system, is in our skin. Throughout our body and skin, we have energy pathways that help our organs communicate with the rest of our body and a large part of this communication pathway occurs within the skin. If we have a scar on our body from an injury, stretch mark, surgery, paper-cut, etc. it can be non-active which means the communication going along that part of the skin is still communicating fine. On the contrary, if the scar is “active” that means it is acting like a detour, blockage in communication between body processes and or organ function. We use specific oils and or laser treatments to treat active scars to help dissolve any communication blockages and help the energy flow with more ease.

Once the underlying stressors are found, our Nutritionists will make specific recommendations to you and your bodies needs based on their findings.
